Questions, answered

Which After Effects versions are supported?

After Effects 2025 (v25.0) and newer, on both Windows and macOS. Shortcuts adapt automatically (Ctrl/Alt on Windows, Cmd/Opt on Mac).

Is there a trial?

The Free tier never expires, so there's nothing to trial against a clock. You get the full linking engine and eyedropper sampling with up to 2 swatches per group, enough for your brand's core colours. Unlimited swatches, swatch-linked gradient stops, and import/export unlock with Pro. Please try it before buying; all sales are final.

How many computers can I use Pro on?

One Pro license = one person on up to 2 machines (like Adobe's own apps). Moving to a new machine? Deactivate in the panel first, or email support and we'll free it up. Pro Team works the same way, per seat.

What updates do I get?

Your purchase includes all 1.x updates — bug fixes and After Effects compatibility updates. One-time purchase, no subscription, nothing to renew.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Activation needs internet once; after that the license revalidates periodically and tolerates being offline for a grace period of about two weeks.

Will my project open fine for someone without UniPalette?

Yes. Linked layers use only native AE properties plus a plain checkbox control, so there's no plugin dependency. Projects render anywhere, render farms included. The palette itself is stored inside the .aep and travels with it.

Can I upgrade from Free to Pro later?

Yes. Buy Pro, enter your license key in the panel, and everything you built on Free (swatches, links) carries over instantly. It's the same panel; the key unlocks the rest.

How do I install it?

You get a signed .zxp package. Install it with any ZXP installer (like aescripts' ZXP Installer), no PlayerDebugMode required. On Windows, run the installer as administrator — and if you are updating, uninstall the previous version first. Some ZXP installers report success without writing anything when they lack permission.
